If you are a permanent resident of Canada or the U.S, you should bring your Permanent Resident Card with you. If you are a member of a Trusted Traveller program, see Visitors to Canada. B) Entering from other countries?
The citizens of many countries require a visa to enter Canada, while the citizens of others do not. Please check with your government to see how to apply for a passport.

Find out if you need a visa to enter Canada before you leave your home country. Visas are issued by Canadian government offices abroad. Not all of these offices have visa officers, but those that do not will direct you to the nearest visa office. Canada has introduced a new entry requirement, known as an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), for certain international travelers who fly to Canada.
